About Femke

Femke Kolff-Otten is a business mediator at Result ADR. She facilitates disputes where the stakes are high, relationships are under pressure and legal proceedings are imminent. Her areas of expertise include partnership conflicts, contractual disputes and complex multi-party situations, including shareholder disputes and employment conflicts, both nationally and internationally.

With more than 25 years of experience as a lawyer and in-house counsel in complex international transactions, Femke understands the interests at stake in business disputes. She is familiar with the dynamics of negotiations involving lawyers, understands how legal positions relate to what parties are actually seeking to achieve, and knows the value, in terms of time, money and working relationships, of reaching a solution together.

This experience translates into a practical and goal-oriented approach: she identifies what is truly at stake, creates the space for a well-considered decision and guides parties towards an outcome that is workable in practice. In addition to her native language, Femke is fluent in English.

Business disputes are rarely just about contracts or money. Behind legal positions lie expectations, trust and choices that have not, or not sufficiently, been expressed. Creating the space for those conversations, even when relationships have deteriorated, is at the heart of what I do.

A sustainable solution requires clarity: about what the parties truly want, what they are willing to give, and what the alternative is. My role is to guide that conversation in such a way that the parties can make a well-considered decision.
