About Ewout

Ewout Goudsmedt is a mediator, negotiation advisor and international lawyer. He supports organizations and professionals whose working relationships have come under pressure, where trust has been damaged and conversations have reached an impasse. He is also engaged in cases involving escalation, sickness absence, employment exits, and disputes that are at risk of progressing into formal legal proceedings. His work includes partnership disputes, employment conflicts and shareholder disputes within organizations.

He is familiar with the dynamics of international organizations, major commercial law firms, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Having worked for many years at the intersection of competing interests, roles and responsibilities, he understands how decisions are made when interests collide and not everything is openly discussed.

Alongside his mediation practice, he advises and supports companies and leadership teams in negotiations and high-stakes disputes, including international matters and cases involving significant strategic and reputational interests.

Ewout aan het woord

Tension is inevitable whenever interests and perspectives diverge. Differences of opinion do not have to undermine collaboration, provided there is space to explore those differences carefully and constructively.

Disputes consume time and energy that individuals and organizations would rather invest elsewhere. A lasting resolution is only possible when the underlying choices are made consciously and explicitly. Clarity about those choices is the first step towards decisions that endure.
